m2v files

I received some files from a client. He sent me bunch of m2v files and aiff files which are the audio files for the m2v files. I need to get them into Vegas. I know vegas does not directly support m2v files. Is there an easy way to get them into vegas. I tried renaming them to .mpg. They then played in Media player but still do not open in vegas. I tried Batch converter and DVD Architect, and still no go.

I know I could ask the client to send me something else, but I would like to avoid that. The client has a production flow that ends with m2v files and aiff files and I have a feeling I would be percieved as being difficult to work with if I ask for something else. On top of it all, They are MAC guys, and they would probably see my inability to work with their files as sign of PC inferiority. (why you would send someone m2v files to open in a NLE is more of a sign of MAC guy stupidity if you ask me.) Hope my client is not reading this....
Thanks for the help.

M2v files are Mpeg files I think so you need the AVI's that the m2v's were rendered from or something that will back convert the m2v back to and avi file.

According to a brief search via Google, you can convert your m2v files to avis using DVD2AVI, TMPGEnc, or Virtualdub. Someone on this board has no doubt done this; let's see who checks in.
