M2V Problems in Vegas

How come I can't load an .m2v file into Vegas 5. I encoded it in Dazzle as an MPEG-2 without audio. It made it an .mpv file and then I just changed the extension to .m2v.

Vegas doesn't like elementary streams (don't ask me why); you can use TMPGenc to multiplex in an null audio track and change it into a system stream which Vegas willo then be able to read.

MPEG-2 is not a real good format for editing though, so if you can capture as DV you'd be much better off.
