MacBook Pro / BootCamp / Vegas Experiences?

With the announcement of the new 13" MacBook Pro, with 8 hours of battery life and LED screen, etc., I'm wondering what people's experiences have been with running Vegas on MacBook Pros under BootCamp. I would primarily be using Vegas under BootCamp on location recordings, camera to laptop via firewire and out to an external USB drive.

Just wondering what other people's experiences using Vegas on a MacBook Pro have been like...

I have a older MBP. I've been using bootcamp with windows OS's and vegas for almost two years. It works great for me. I am currently using Win7/32 with V8 and it works fine. I don't have much time on this particular setup because I recently upgraded the HDD and OS's.

My highly tried and true MBP rig with vegas was using 10.4 with bootcamp beta and win XP. I suspect using 10.5.7 with Win7 should work as well on the same rig.

Thanks! So there are people using it who have had no problems - not that I've heard otherwise...

Mark,

Another vote for that setup. My MBP is also older (2 years now); I have Vista on the Bootcamp side and have captured many, many hours of video straight to the laptop using both OnLocation and Vegas.

Boot Camp has been fantastic on my 3 year old MBPro.

I’ve got the now orphaned USB only aluminum Macbook. It works great for Vegas. USB speeds are very close to the max of the 2.0 spec unlike previous Macs. I moved my entire video workflow to Windows as FCE and FCS are so old they reek of discontinuation. If we could only get Vegas to 9a then everything will be hunky dory (are those real words?). The CineForm fix should help but I haven’t been able to see how it affects the Preview slowness yet. Sorry to ramble: I think that I inhaled too much sealer fumes when sealing the grout today ;) So it goes...

Love me some MacBook Pro. Very happy. On my second one (speeds only / no problems) and Vegas runs like a champ.

I'd not recommend 13" for editing though. Way to little screen real estate to do much, that is unless you're running to an external monitor for most of your work.

Having run Vegas on numerous brands of laptops, the mac by far has been the least problematic.

Hi Mark
I have the 17"MBP with Bootcamp, Vista 64 bit and vegas 8 & 9.I've encountered problems with V9 and with Vista but I imagine these will be ironed out to in the future with Win 7 & V9a. I luv the MBP.
Cheers
