Mackie and Canopus ADVC-100

Cant't get audio from a Mackie 1202MS thru the ADVC-100 is connected to the computer with firewire. If I plug in the Mackie direct to the sound card (Audigy SoundBlaster, the one that comes with the Dell computers), I get low audio levels. I have to pump up the volume all the way up to get a decent level. I'm using an Audio-Techina shotgun mic (with battery).

The canopus box detects if something is connected to the front inputs. If you're connected to the back and there's a cable on the front, it will ignore the back inputs.

It may not use the front unless there's a cable connected to the video input too, don't know without trying it myself.
