You guys may already be aware of this, but the help file section titled "Using a Mackie Control" gives function definitions for all of the controls.

Some of the controls on the mackie perform multiple functions depending on what "mode" the mackie is in. The help file lists all the possibe functions for each control, and how to acces those functions by putting the mackie into the correct mode.

For example, the V-Pots at the top of each channel strip can be used for Volume, Panning, Bus Send Levels, Video Track Opacity, and a host of other things.

However since the V-Pot can only be used to control one of these functions at a time, the mackie must first be put into the correct mode. For example, in order to adjust audio effect parameters with the V-Pots, the Mackie must be in Audio Mode (the Video button is un-lit), and the Plug-In button must be selected.

The help file describes how to access each mode, and how all of the buttons function while in a particular mode.

Hope this helps.
