Mackie Control Pro and Vegas 11

Anyone using an MCU Pro with Vegas 11 successfully? Mine hasn't worked right since Vegas 9. Vegas will send sync data to the MCU (timecode will display accurately) and will even move a few faders, but the MCU's controls can't control any Vegas functions or navigate the cursor along the Vegas time-line. But Vegas 9 hooks right up and works perfectly.

As I tested each version, I made sure that only one instance of Vegas was open at all times, and that only one version was External Control- enabled so as not to confuse Vegas.

Similar problems with Vegas 10, but Vegas 11 seems to be trying a little harder. V10 is just a dead fish. Depressing to have 24 channels worth of control interface sitting there doing nothing.

Any thoughts or V11 success stories would be encouraging.

The latest version of v11 release fixed an issue with external control via midi controllers if that helps? if your unit is midi controlled, maybe give that a try and update. Sorrry if you already tried that.

Unfortunately, I've already updated to the latest build 521 (and the MCU is the first thing I always check with every new build) but no dice . I don't use the midi connections- connect via USB, but I think the control protocol is all the same, just the usb connection is faster and resolves better.

But I have a cobbled-together, multi-version workflow now, anyway- I do the bulk of editing and audio that requires mix automation in V9c (rock-solid stable), save as V9 file. Then off to V10e for the Mercalli stabilization, save as V10 file, then finally to 11 for gpu-assist and other niceties with the new version, then save as V11 file! ( I know, what a dork.)

But I've been with Vegas since it was Vegas audio only, then it split into Vegas Audio and Vegas Video, then just Vegas - 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10,1 1. Cut my teeth on Avids through the 90's , so Vegas is no sweat compared to Avid setup and maintenance- Avids are like Fiats (Fix It Again, Tony!). Breakout boxes and boards and drive striping and funky drivers and dongles. Ugh. Talk about a nightmare. So after using the Vegas workflow, forget Avid (except for the DNXhD codec, of course).
