Maddening problem after update (generated media/text)

Hi there. I have Vegas Pro 17 Edit. Today, it informed me of a "very important update." I did it, and now, when I open generated media and try to edit text, there is no text box in the preview window that I can move or adjust, and any changes I make in font choice, text color or anything else are not viewable in the preview window until I close out of "edit generated media." It's a crippling problem...I can't, in real time, change anything about Vegas Titles & text and see the changes in the preview window. Please help! It's Version 17.0 Build 321. I can still use these functions just fine in my old Movie Studio Platinum 13, but not in Vegas Pro, no matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall. My son has this same program on his computer, hasn't been offered an update, and his works just fine. Arghh! Thank you, if you can help

I also just discovered the same thing goes for video effects. In order to see changes I make to a video segment, I must first close out of the video effects window before they take effect in the preview window. It's like the program and the preview window are not syncing. What happened? Something to do with this update. I can't find anything in the forums or by googling...this must be a problem caused by this new udpate...I don't know...but the program is useless for me at this time and there's no tech support (how can that be?) so: please help if you can.

Vegas Pro 17 build 321 is an old build going back to last October. Since b321 there have been 3 new builds, the latest being b421.

To get the latest build, go to:

https://www.magix.com/us/support/my-service-center/product-downloads/

... and the download should give you the the latest build. Alternatively, to the My Products page on your My Account on Vegas' webpage as you can download the latest version of your products from there.

Thank you! Also, I followed this advice I found on this forum and it seemed to work, but might this have any negative effect on my rendering or anything else to do with Vegas...or, for that matter, anything else I do on my computer? (I copied and pasted this):

It is, but there's a reliable workaround (so far, anyway). For Windows 10. Will probably work for 8 and 7 as well but I can't verify.

Open the nvidia control panel (rt-click on desktop) and under Manage 3D Settings | Program Settings find Movie Studio in the list or add it if it's not there. Choose "Integrated Graphics" in the preferred graphics processor dropdown. Save.

Open MS and choose the Nvidia GPU in the Video tab in preferences.

Now you should see that the titles/fx/etc update in real time.

But also...

When you render, it will use the nvidia gpu. You can verify this by opening the Task manager and watching the GPU Engine column (enable it if it's not there) and you'll see GPU 1 show up when you render.
