Wow!

There is just so much I adore about your work - but what bubbles to the top is your simplicity in getting the image out to me. That's what comes across - bit like your movie - loud 'n clear. A lot of others could benefit from seeing this piece.

Yeah, sure, I can comment about wanting you to have done some of the garage shots with a tad more directional lighting, but nothing I can't live with.

Loved the BnW of you flying thru' the air - almost BEATLES "Help!" feel. In fact I can see the influence of Richard Lester being worked through here.

No, for me totally engaging work - and work shot and edited with masses of humour. Brimming over with ideas - Love it!!

MORE PLEASE!!!

thanks so much for the kind words grazie.. made me smile.. (and its 7.30am)
the garage deal was a demo day... we were just trying out things.. but we ended up liking some of our moves.. and decided to use it anyhow.. regardless of the TERRIBLE lighting...
oh well! it was fun project!
thanks again for taking time to check it out and respond!

A fresh new kind of genius!

You scared the little girls away…they never came back, please explain?
pjrey wrote on 8/18/2006, 10:00 AM
thats my little sister...
we had all these ideas.. but you know how it goes.. things didnt match up.. didnt work out.. she is the one singing the chorus... thought it would be fun to have her in there somewhere...
played around with it some.. and i liked how we came out of the trees and then she takes off.. shes not really in the frame with us... it is one of the overlays..
thought it was fun.. left it in...

I enjoyed it, as well as the song. I am glad that I read that this was you and your bro (the whole bed thing). Anyways, there was a lot of creativity that went into making this.

Do you mind posting what kind of time you put into making this as well as pre a post? What led up to this and what do you intend to do with it?

hey j razz...
we shot for about 4 days worth (whithin a month)
we shot on sundays.. after work.. thats the only free time we both had...
3 tapes... 50 min each.. filled up..
post.. about 2 days straight...
(there was no pre) this was all off the cufff.. )

the song on the other hand took forever (we released the cd two years ago..)
we spent about two years making the album ( http://three-fifths.pjrey.com )

to do with it?
nothing.. show it to friends.. family.. anyone who wants to see it!
i just like doing this for myself, for fun!

Man, that was great! What creativity. Lots of good parts but that garage scene with the two of you dancing in air was choice. Amazing what can be done with more imagination than I have. Really enjoyed this.
Randy
edit: I render using the Windows Media Player 256K template for streaming, seems to work fine.

Fun! Get it out there to get more exposure.

I assume you have a marketing plan???
pjrey wrote on 8/18/2006, 10:55 PM
no marketing plan.. im more proud of the song than the video!
i really appreciate all this positive feedback.... i thought it was going to be torn TO BITS!

no money was put into this.. besides three digtital8 tapes...
ohh, and our white suits my brother got at the recycling center for $2...

i really like the broom scene myself.. where i sweep, and my brother dances... makes me laugh... everytime...

thanks again, everyone, for taking time to view and respond!

Come on. Go for it. The song was great. Video way cool.

The video was much, much better than most of the music videos I've seen lately.

Sure, I could be critical of minute technical details, but the overall package was well balanced.

thanks for the kind words fldave
i wouldn't know what to do next with it...
i just want people to watch it! and enjoy it!!

TIGHT!

What tha _____ is goin on in your head bro?

I liked both the song and the Vid. I had to download it and pass it on to some of my friends that Record, Shoot, & Edit. (hope you don't mind)

Looks like your production was pretty simple and low cost. -That's good for every project... no matter the budget.
Looks like your Post (ideas & talent) really brought everything together in a very nice way.

- Keep up the good work!
Logan5 wrote on 8/19/2006, 10:53 AM
You could of got two more cuts on the small tree...
I understand that your brother didn’t want to chance it.
Still, two more cuts were there.

Thanks for the explanation on why your sisters only appeared for the first portion of your video.
pjrey wrote on 8/19/2006, 11:39 AM
two more cuts and no more hands! scary.. i was scared.. he gets carried away.. and i could just see him chopping them off.. all for a dumb music video!

the whole garage scene.. there was soo much good stuff i had to cut out.. im going to put it in the blooper/outtakes.. and inlcude that on the dvd...

magic bullete helped soo much!!!
slow as the dickens...
but.. you should see the two, side by side.. wow, helped tons!

Very cool! Loved the song and the images - so creative! I'll be shooting my first music video later this year and edit ing with Vegas: watching yours has been an inspiration and given me more confidence to that end. Congrats on producing a most entertaining production:-)

Great bit of work, pjrey! Always fun to listen to your songs, and this vid puts a different spin on it. Very creative. Reminiscent of some of the early 70's film work in the cutting style, makes your brain think "huh? What was that?" Lots of candy for the eyes to focus on.

I almost didn't click on this post when I read the reference to hip hop...not my style. But I actually liked the song. Your sister's vocals gave it a intense sound...

The broom and the sand scene was also one of my favorite parts. I was listening for the sound of his feet scratching at the floor like the old tap dancers used to do.

I love the mix of simple film and digital effects. Very very sweet video.

thanks spot, jim.. and everyone else!!! your kind works are very encouraging!! im glad you guys both took time to view it and respond! thank you so much! it makes my day!
