MAGIC BULLET($$$$)

cervama wrote on 5/5/2004, 9:36 AM
I went to the magic bullet website to find out more about it, since I'm new to it. It's pretty expensive $279-299. My question is does vegas 5 come with the complete version of magic bullet? Also I read somewhere in this forum that it could be downloaded free somewhere, Is it true? Is it worth buying and does it make it look like real filmlook? Thanks for the information.

No, it's not the full version.

Only 5 "looks" come with V5, and when you register Magic Bullet you can download 5 more. It looks good, BUT, read some other posts in here and you'll find it's a render hog (that's an understatement). I'd recommend that you try out the free ones and see how your render times are, if you've got the time, it looks like a good product.

What about Boris 3.0 LTD is it a full version?

Boris 3.0 LTD

"LTD" = limited.

Well... it’s the full version of Boris Graffiti 3.0 LTD which is a limited version of Boris Graffiti 3.0. ;-) I think the correct answer to your question is: No, its not the full version of Boris Graffiti 3.0, BUT it does entitle you to upgrade to the full version for $149 which is a $50 savings off the regular $199 price. So it’s definitely a good deal.

How limited is it then?...

WHen I loaded Boris, I get an X in the effect. Is this llike a Demo version, or do I need to disable something (or maybe register?

The "X" means you're running in demo mode. Register to get rid of the "X".

Sorry to butt in here Edward, . . .but . . . the cross I get in the Pixelan Spicemaster Filters, are these too needing to be registered? Or are these Demo tempters? I really like them . .very much . . But do I need to register them and would they then "work" without the " X " ?

Apologies to the thread starter . .

If you have purchased a product and it is giving you an "X", odds are high that it is not registered properly.

Maybe this has been answered, but if you buy the complete Magic Bullet software, can you use the whole thing in Vegas now (rather than having to go to AE or something like that)?
That would be really cool.

only the presets -- you are still limited to 1024x1024 res. -- even if you copy and rename the AE dll's over into the vegas movie looks dir , replacing the ones there ... the ae presets work though ..

Next month Magic Bullet for Editors will work in Vegas.

The Magic Bullet for editors (you can read more when you get your "5 more free looks") is now being offered pre-release for $199.

I don't get it. I tried out MB free looks and wasn't impressed. There doesn't seem to be anything there that is already available as a preset in color curves. What am I missing? Why is the full version worth anything?

There a lot more to choose from with full version and you can adjust them to your liking.

If you're familiar with BigFX's FilmFX..... they will soon have a series of Filmlook plug-ins for Vegas created by Zenote. I'm hearing fairly soon which will be nice. Look-wise it'll be comparible to what you'll get Magic Bullet to do with Vegas and I would wager for about the same price.
