Magic Bullet for Editors is deathly slow!

Wow. What can i say. Magic Bullet for Editors is just too slow.

Magic Bullet for Editors is very nice though. However it seems to be nothing more than a glow, blur, gradient overlay, and color curves/corrections

If you take a Magic Bullet look and try to duplicate it with Vegas's own tools... you can acheive the same look that runs in nearly realtime.

Magic Bullet takes litterally 30 minutes to render 30 seconds.

So far i've found that just using Color Curves in Vegas is more than enough to mimic a Magic Bullet look.

If you really want the magic bullet look, layer a circular gradient(more or less shape wise) that goes from black outside to transparent inside. Then adjust the tracks opacity to get the balance you want.

What's amazing is how fast Vegas's native color correction and color curve tools are. Nearly realtime even in Preview mode. Magic Bullet can only hope to be that fast.

Vegas needs the ability to save a chain of filters as a preset. The copy and paste event attributes isnt enough. It overwrites panning cropping, velocity curves etc. Thats just no good. I should just beable to drag and drop a preset that contains a bunch of filters in a chain on to a clip.

Yesterday I did the same test.

A 10 seconds clip and rendered it with and without MB.

With MB and grain= > Nearly 10 minutes
without both => almost real time (10 sec)

Of course it was not fair to do such comparison but I was curious. Today, I'll do the same test with Color Correction, Color Curves, glow and grain to see how much time does it take.

I'll try to get the same look and see it it affects the time.

AH.. I knew vegas had to have this ability. Its in a rather strange place though i think. Though perhaps not.

Thanks a lot Risce1. That should be plenty helpful.
