Does that mean that I can now get paid to put in the film damage I was once paid to remove?

:O)

Thought it already came out? It is part of the Magic Bullet Suite 2, which has been out for a few weeks now. So they are already putting out an update? What are they now, Microsoft?

>>> I assume this is free for Vegas MBE customer<<<

The Magic Bullet Suite 2 is not a free upgrade and it does not have anything to do with the Magic Bullet Editors product. If you have Magic Bullet Suite 1 / 1.5 you can upgrade via a download for $129.00, you need your dongle for the upgrade. The full version, which does not require a dongle, is $775.00 for the download version. If you want the render farm part it is $445.00 more (or they have a bundle version, boxed, for $995.00)

As for Misfire - it is already part of Magic Bullet Editors. There is a MisFire bug fix for PPro users however which may be an updated verison of what is in the Vegas version.

Hopefully there might be some sort of update that will decrease render times on the PC side. This new version claims it is up to five times faster rendering on Power Mac G5 vs. Power Mac G4 but makes no mention of speed increse on the PC side.

This is true for other platform except Vegas. I bought MBE and they put it on their website that the Misfire was not available for Vegas, that's why I assume the update for Misfire for Vegas version will be free. It's not clear from the website.

I was one of the beta testers for Misfire (Vegas), so it is "out there." I don't know if they plan to offer it "free" to Vegas owners, as the vegas version of MBE was $100 less than the other ones at the time. Even if there is a nominal charge for it, it's worth every penny, IMO.

Is that a six day render for .30secs of Misfire?
Jessariah67 wrote on 3/11/2005, 4:48 PM
Actually, Misfire is not as intense a render hog as MB is. There were only 2 or 3 modules that slowed rendering down. The rest were no slower than the film effects that come with Vegas.

I'm looking around at their website.. and still confused, so is this misfire (for MBE Vegas) an optional plugin or it's there in the update file? Can someone enlighten me on this?

The site is *very* confusing/misleading about MisFire and MBE. I have to say I did not relize it was not part of the Vegas plug-in until you mentioned it. So I went to the site and searched and searched and it was extremly hard to find any info that said it was not included. Matter of fact it does not even say this in the manual, and it just talks abouit MisFire and what it does and has sections for Vegas, Premiere Pro and what not and not mention in the Vegas section of "oh by the way MisFire is not part of the Vegas plug". I did fine the little tiny mention that said "Sony Vegas (1)" and when you find the little footnote it says that MisFire update will be released on March 15. But it also says things about Avid plugs coming out on the 15th - it is the 16th now and I can't see where anything has been updated yet. MBE page still says Avid is coming soon and the updates page for Vegas still shows the old "DLL" update fix.

So right now I think th eonly people who could know would be the people who work there...but maybe they don't even now. Obviously it doesn't look like the web team knows anyway. ;)

I agree - the site is very confusing. I just emailed my contact there to find out what the deal was and I'll hit you guys back as soon as I find out something.

Just heard back from the Magic Bullet people and here's their response:

"Still a little delayed, actually the Avid version is delaying its release Vegas is done. Should be up on the site next week. (hopefully)."
