Magic Bullet Plug-In

I'm looking for a Vegas Plug-in that does a similar job to Magic Bullet, (Avid Plug-In). Magic Bullet is available from www.toolfarm.com

Magic Bullet is being ported to Vegas, but will only be available this coming summer.

Maybe there is a similar Vegas product out there but I can't find one.

If you are a video producer and have never used Magic Bullet, there is nothing out there that comes close. (Well I think so?). It's been used in many major movie production, including Tom Hank's "Band of Brothers."

Just as a suggestion, after reviewing the Magic Bullet which came with V5, I think that you could create all the effects by yourself in a spare time, saving some money. This is not to say that MB is a great plugin but I though it was much more than what it actually is.

I think the full version IS much more. My understanding is that it gives you more "looks" and much more control. For a "quickie," it looks great and is probably worth the $$$ (and extra render time???), but it has been pointed out in here that you can accomplish the same effects within Vegas' native plugins.

I have just downloaded Vegas Ver 5 and see that it has a Magic Bullet style Plug-In. I'll give it a try and see what the results look like. Thanks for the input anyway.

What you get with Vegas is a small set of "looks".
If you have the Magic BUllet suite for AE what you get is much much more. However you also pay fo rthat as well.
If you want to play with looks you can use what Vegas has. You can download the free Film Look script wheich includes a few starting points as far as looks go. If you want a plug-in you can check out the Zenote ones that are based on the BigFX Film FX plug-ins.

If you have the money you can get Boris Red 3 GL and also get Digital FIlm Tools DFT suite and plug-it into Red. But I think for that kind of money you could just get AE and the plug-in.

One new entry into this is the new version of Wax that allows for photoshop pulg-ins to work and be used. I am testing this out as we spek so it is possible that some of the DFT and 55mm PS plugs could be used. If so all you woul dhave to do is get them and Wax.
