Haven't rendered for awhile and just looked at DVD Ntsc Mpeg2 in
4.0e and saw the 2 pass check box next to Variable bit rate. Has anyone flogged this out yet?
I have Vegas 4.0d and recently installed the MC standalone demo. I do not have the 2-pass checkbox in the Vegas encoder.
I have read, on other non-Sony forums, on how to copy DLLs from the standalone encoder into the Vegas directory (something that Sony does not recommend or support). I haven't done this, but in reading the posts from those that have done it, they claim that the extra features in the standalone encoder (such as 2-pass encoding) do NOT show up in the Vegas interface -- all you get (if in fact the "hack" works) is the newer, somewhat faster encoding.
Thus, I don't know how you managed to get the extra check box. However, I think you said you have 4.0e (the "Sonyized" version), so perhaps there is something in that version that gets "tripped" somehow.
I do have the standalone encoder installed but it is the older version.
I clicked on the help icon and it says nothing available. I also checked the box and did a small render but it did not render twice.
