Main Concept MPEG-2 Vegas 11 vs Vegas 13

What is the difference in the Main Concept MPEG-2 Program Stream NTSC render engine between Vegas 11 and Vegas 13? I rendered the same project in Vegas 11 and Vegas 13 and the Vegas 13 render was about 10% smaller.

I want to figure out what is different before I start using Vegas 13 heavily for my workflow.

The process I used for this experiment was: I created the project in Vegas 11 and rendered it. Then opened the same project in Vegas 13 and rendered it.

Thanks!

A couple of questions come to mind. What render settings did you use? Was GPU acceleration switched OFF in Vegas? Do you see any image quality difference between the two?

I get intermittent/random audio glitches rendering Main Concept MPEG-2 Program Stream NTSC in V11, V12. (anything in HD has no issues)

I have to use v9 to get a clean render. (with identical render settings)

So good question...there is something different...never thought of looking at the file size.

I'm sure the encoder hasn't changed.
Maybe the vbr algorithm in Vegas has been refined.

I used the default project settings and default render settings. I double checked them all, and all of these settings are identical between v11 and v13.

And is your only observation, that one file is 10% smaller?
