Yesterday I was just doing a spot of pre-mixing for a later session with a client, when VV3c started an autosave, and my IDE light came on, and stayed on, and not much else happened at all. Trashed my C: drive (just as well my data on D: was unharmed).
Couldn't rescue C: so, a complete re-install was required, of everything. Gaaarrrgh. Late night ...
However I can't blame Vegas. I suspect it is something to do with either my C: drive itself, or more likely the VIA F*!@#&g '394' chipset mobo. Sometimes it doesn't recognise drives on boot, and needs an explicit BIOS Hard Drive Search to refresh itself.
On the shortlist for replacement.
Thanks for listening - I feel better now. And have all my projects freshly backed up ! Must get Ghost.
