Major Problem with CDA, need help..

Hello,

I am currently having a problem burning cd's using CDA with Sound Forge XP 4.0. I have the latest update (4.0g) for Cd Architect.
I am using a Plextor 12/4/32 SCSI burner with Adaptec card (came with older Smart and Friendly burner) and is on the same SCSI cable as Plextor 40x CD ROM

Anyway the problem is it seems to stop burning at
%51. This happened 3 times in a row even after reinstalling the program. I am not sure if it is a problem with my burner, computer, or software. All three times it stopped at %51 with the following error message.

ForgXP32 caused an invalid Page Fault in module SCSIMMC.CDD at 0167.ocd429bf

Once this message pops up, the burner will not eject the now useless disc. I have to shut down Soundforge and shut down PC and turn it back on so this disc can eject. I have had this burner for about a year and haven't had this problem. My last burner, a Smart and Friendly, had similar problems like this, where it would get to the end of the burn and just eject giving me a hardware failure message. It turns out the burner was bad or so said the techs at S&F before they shut down. Now I am confused as to what the problem is or do I just have bad luck with burners. I would hate to have to spend alot of money on a burner again.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Had a similar experience quite some time ago:
CDA would tell me that the disc was written successfully. I burned about 6 copies of the same material. I popped one in my CD player and it read the proper # of tracks and program time. When I played the CD, however, it stopped at a particular time during a track and would not continue, ffwd, nothing. I checked the other copies & found they did exactly the same thing - same place - every time.

I had edited a LONG file in Sound Forge 4.0 (using the "acts like a non-destructive editor" method) - lots of edits - and saved it to another file 'deleting cut regions'.
After eliminating ALL other possibilities, I finally had to dump the edited file (that played as if it were edited) over to DAT and re-load it back into SF & then use that new file to burn the CDs from. Can you say 'Double my work load, please?'.
Only thing I could come up with is that maybe the original file had become corrupted somehow or maybe part of it was on a bad spot on my HD. Maybe this is your problem?
This have never happened since - to my knowledge.
Lots of Luck!
