Make A DVD - HELP PLEASE

I am using a sony NX5 camera recording on AVCHD. I am new to vegas and the sony software product family.

I put the m2ts files on my vegas timeline and tried to burn a dvd. the video was 2 Hours long. I went to the file menu and chose to MAKE DVD the software told me that the video was too long to fit on a dvd.

I tried to render the timeline as a MPEG file and an AC3 file to send to DVD architect and the dvd also wont burn because the files are too large
In DVD Architect, I tried to scale down the bitrate compression in order to make the video fit, and the software will not allow me to do it. I also tried to click the icon that gives me the options to make the video fit the dvd

Nothing seems to work. What am I doing wrong. Please help.

Please start by downloading manual and reading.

Basic DVD production using DVDA is pretty straightforward.

Edit:

There are a couple of good training videos from recent webinars detailing the use of DVDA.
