Make Movie for Multimedia Player

Hi

I've just exported two movies to my brand new Iomega Screenplay HD Multimedia Player; as follows:-

PAL HDV and PAL DV, both exported as AVIs using the default settings. When I come to playback on a TV from the multimedia player I get the error "CODEC NOT SUPPORTED".

I would welcome any ideas on how I should go about viewing movies from Sony Vegas Platinum 9 for best results.

Many thanks.

Do the instructions for the Iomega unit tell you what codecs to use? You've obviously used one that the player doesn't support. Which one did you use? This list of codecs tells you what it can handle, so you'll have to pick one of them.

Thanks.

I don't have the Pro version, I have the HD version, for which the list of Codecs is here
https://iomega-na-en.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/iomega_na_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=19486&p_created=1190391733&p_sid=9OuT*osj&p_accessibility=&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9NzIsNzImcF9wcm9kcz05OTEsMTAyNyZwX2NhdHM9NTAmcF9wdj0yLjEwMjcmcF9jdj0xLjUwJnBfc2VhcmNoX3R5cGU9YW5zd2Vycy5zZWFyY2hfbmwmcF9zY2ZfOT0mcF9wYWdlPTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1XaGF0IHR5cGVzIG9mIG11bHRpbWVkaWEgZmlsZXMgYW5kIEFWIGNvbm5lY3Rpb25zIGFyZSBzdXBwb3J0ZWQgd2l0aCB0aGUgSW9tZWdhwq4gU2NyZWVuUGxheSBIRCBNdWx0aW1lZGlhIFBsYXllcj8*&p_li=&p_topview=1

I see it excludes DivX HD and Xvid HD. The reason I bought this device was, I thought, for an easy way of watching our HDV movies on TV without recording back to tape. I don't think this is the solution so will return it for my money back and think again.

What do you think the solution is? Without going down the expense of a Blue-Ray recorder and disks?

Thanks, as ever.

It appears to support HDV which is MPEG2 (M2TS)
