Step 1 - Burn it to DVD
Step 2 - Select DVD
Step 3 - Video Format (MPEG-2 720x576-50i, 16:9 (PAL))

Step 4 - Wait 8 hours for it to render and write to DVD

Project Properties
Template - Custom (1920x1080, 23.976 fps)
Width - 1920
Height - 1080
Field Order - Lower First
Pixel Aspect Ratio 1000 (Square)
Frame Rate 25000 (PAL)
Stereoscopic - Off

Full-resolution rendering quality - Best
Deinterlace method - Blend Fields

(checked) Adjuest source media to better match project or render settings.

Is it normal for it to take 8 hours ?

Not sure why you're using 1920x1080 for a DVD, which is only 720x576. What format/template are you rendering to? If you're rendering correctly in Vegas then it should be more like 10 minutes to prepare and 15 or 20 minutes to burn. The fact that it's taking so long probably means you're rendering to an incompatible format (HD of some sort) in Vegas.

What is your source media?

The video came from Panasonic HDC-HS700 Camcorder.

Output Format: AVCHD 1920x1080-50i

Thanks

Without knowing the length of your video or anything about your computer, eight hours is not outside of reason.

the video length once I have taken all the crap out of it is 1hr 20mins

the computer is fast and has plenty of memory.

Adjusting the project properties to match the source rarely aids in rendering. In fact it's often a detriment. If you want the most efficient rendering then project properties should match the desired output. However, in the long run project properties have nearly zero effect on rendering anyway so it's not that big a deal.

What file type, template, and custom settings are you choosing when you render? You should be using MPEG2 with the DVD Architect Widescreen template.

File types are .m2ts, the video length is approx 1hr 20mins.

Output format is MPEG-2

DVD Architexct PAL Widescreen video stream which gives

Video: 25 fps, 720x576 Lower field first, YUV, 6 Mbps
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.457

hope this helps
