It's not "missing" -- it simply isn't there. ;-)

As a "beginner" program, VMS trades more tools for more handholding. Vegas forgoes much of the handholding in favor or more tools. As such, there aren't a whole lot of one-click solutions in Vegas like the "Make Movie" thingie VMS has. In Vegas, we use File > Render As and choose the appropriate filetype and template.

When you are mostly rendering vegs into DVD format, you might consider downloading and installing DVDPrep from www.vasst.com.

The plugin creates standard mpg and ac3 files to use in DVDA (including markers).

After installation you can find the plugin in the scripting menu. You could customize your toolbar (options menu) and put the icon where you want for direct use.

Check out Vol. 1 Issue 7 of Edward Troxel's newsletters as it's devoted to DVD preparation.
While you're there, you may as well grab all of them.
They're free (PDF format) and a great resource.
