Make regions or Closed Captions from text events?

Hi all,

I have a few videos that have subtitles made as text events. Is there a script that could make regions out of text events and insert the text from text events to the regions?

Or perhaps even create closed captions from text events?

I tried googling and searching the forum but didn't find exactly what Im looking for although reading a bit I'm led to believe this might be possible to do with a script?

I'm using Vegas 10 and have no experience in scripting myself.

Thanks!

Sami

A script could make captions or regions in the area of the text events but cannot extract the text from the text events to use as the region label or caption text.

Thanks Jetdv. Well, maybe by Vegas 11 we will have it easier :)

Having made a "storyboard" rough edit on the timeline, using Sony Text generators for the talent's (human) script pieces, it would have been great to be able to extract the text into a single page of all script pieces. Thanks Jetdv also, at least I know that "avenue" is closed. I also hope that Vegas 11 will enable access to the text, ideally for all the text generating items (including ProType).

Can't yet use Vegas 10 subtitling etc. since I have found the current sub-version of Vegas (10c) and its predecessors (a,b) to be insufficiently stable. Stability is an issue since I will progressively replace the storyboard timeline's "slugs" (e.g. photographs) with actual footage to make the final product.

Extracting text from text media is not possible, but the reverse task is possible (if that matters to you). I mean generating text media from regions, markers, subtitles or closed captions. If you are interested, check out this link: http://vegasaur.com/text-generation-wizard
