When your text is on a track above the video, open Edit Generated media, Properties and pull down the left slider under Text color. That will make the text transparent. The background is transparent by default, so if you don't change that (pull that slider up) you will see nothing at all, apart from the video underneath.

If you are using one of the V4 Media Generators, choose the one with the chequered backgrounds - these cheques denot that the text is sitting on a transparent background. What you now need to do is place this Genreated Media Above the track your movie clip in on. So, Track 1 - Text; Track 2 Video. - That should do it.

Now if you have brought text into V4 on a non tranni background, get back here and we'll go through it - yeah?
