Click on 'Zoom Video Preview' just above the preview window - the default display is 100% and is just to the right of the Preview Quality selection (Draft, Preview, Good, Best). In the context window that opens, select the bottom option 'Bypass Zoom'.
maybe I was not clear in my question, I meant to have it off by default so I don't have to turn it off everytime I load vegas. Thanks for taking time for your response. I never want it on ever.
that disables it to be sure but it changes the scaling away from 100 percent and magnifies the screen. Also does not help but thanks for taking time to respond. Just want it to be 100% scaling without having to turn it off everytime I restart vegas
Right click the zoom button at the top & untick Enable Preview Scaling
Save the layout .. View - windows Layouts - Save Layout.
Restart Vegas
-----------------
PS, you might not have to save the layout before closing but the default might load next time with this turned on, or you might have use the Save Layout As & create a custom layout 🤷♂️ I've already got a custom layout so logic says i'd need to save it before closing. 👍.

Sorry I had to edit my comment but made a mess of it so deleted it & reposted.
Hmm it does enlarge the preview to something like 110%...
-------------
The size it displays depends on the Preview option, ie Good (Half), Good (Full) etc but none suit my UI setup.. 🤷♂️
naw nothing works, I wish they would make it so it saves the settings you had in the last session like leaving preview play on and this . unless they something you can change in the internal settings that would fix this, not a deal killer just annoying all get out.
first I almost never use it. and unintentionally bump it and make it zoom when I don't need it. I dont see why they could not make that a setting that stays with the configuration, thanks man for taking the time. Been using vagas for many years at least it is pretty stable, I should not complain too much as I remember what it was like to have 2 dozen crashes during a 8 hour session.
