If your hard drive is formatted using FAT32, the maximum file size is 4GB, which just happens to be ~20 minutes of DV video. VMS is smart enough to realize your video is going to take over 4GB so it spans your video over two files. Nothing wrong with that.

If you are using Windows 98SE or ME, there is nothing you can do about this. However, if you are running 2000 or XP, you can convert your drive to use NTFS. NTFS doesn't have the 4GB limit. Search Windows Help for information on "NTFS conversion." Make sure you backup your files before you attempt any conversion!

thanks alot i went and bought an external hard drive for me to save all my movies so that drive might not ntfs formatted ill just save it to my internal hard drive thanks again. and yeah i run windows xp so thanks for the side note
