Manipulating Interface

I'm getting old and the memory isn't that good. In version 5.0 I was able to get into the program and manipulate the default interface--specifically I remember moving the timeline to the bottom of the screen and explorer et al to the top. Does anyone remember how to break into this thing and accomplish that/ (I understand that it is risky business so no need to warn me! )

You need to set an internal preference to do so :

Go to Options | Preferences while holding shift.
You should see the internal tab
There is a field to filter at the bottom, write "Dock" there.
You should see Frame dock at the top, set that to true.

You can now save a layout and it will remember the setting, so you can easily switch from having the timeline at the bottom or top by switching layouts.
