manual removal of Echo drivers

Hi all. i posted this once before and none of the suggestions worked, so here goes again- After installing the Echo drivers from CD (layla 24) on WinXP Pro none of my apps see any ASIO drivers present. If I try to reinstall the drivers, Echo's uninstall program encounters an error and says it can't remove all the drivers then Win XP takes over and rolls back my system to "last good configuartion" and I'm back where I started. I've removed every obviously named driver and registry entry manually but I still encounter the dreaded Echo uninstaller. Any suggestion for manual removal of drivers? Echo support has been (to be cordial) "less than helpful".

Maybe boot up with step by step confirmation to make sure you don't load the drivers, then try the Echo uninstall program?

After all that mucking around with the registry, I'ld be ready to do a C:FORMAT>REINSTALL WINDOWS XP.
