Is there any way of locking markers to a particular clip or place in your project?

I place markers at a chosen position in my project. However, if I subsequently add new clips or change the length of existing clips in the project at point prior to the marker, the marker(s) will no be longer at the same place relative to the project. The project has moved, but markers have not moved with it.

It is not an issue for footage and clips added after the marker, the problem concerns editing the project before the marker.

My only solution so far is after adding or editing footage early in the project I have to go along and restore displaced markers back to their original place.

Is there a way to overcome this?
