Markers not imported into DVDA

'Save project markers in media file' was selected when rendering a file in V Pro8, once to mpeg and again as a test to avi

Despite selecting this option the markers aren't preserved when the file is dropped in to DVDA (studio) in either format.

Is there a known mis-match between pro8 and DVD Studio in this respect or am I missing something that I should have selected?

The software is all legit btw - I just use the B&H Pro Vegas (8b build 217) with my old VMS Platinum DVDA Studio (4.5C Build 91 from 2007).

The markers aren't really stored in the media for MPEG files. They are stored in a file with the same name and the extension .mpg.sfl. If you moved the MPEG file and didn't move the .sfl file with it, this would cause the problem. Check that the file is there in the same folder.

The sfl file is definitely in the same folder as the mpg and ac3 file when I look via Windows Explorer. But no sign of the sfl file when I use the DVDA Explorer window.

I know (because I'm working my way through your DVDA training DVD - very helpful btw thanks!) that adding the mpg file automatically adds the associated ac3 file so long as it has the same file name and is in the same folder. The same doesn't seem to be true of the sfl file.

Dragging and dropping the sfl into DVDA via Windows Explorer doesn't seem to work either ('no can do' symbol just appears).

Can you please clarify the solution for me John.

John - scratch that mate.

I've worked my way further though your DVD and my problem is now sorted!

I'm trying things as I watch the DVD and I'm learning more from this than from weeks of experimenting and reading the manuals...

Yes, the training DVD's are sure great. I have them also, and I watch them also from time to time, just a chapter or 2 - I think you always pick up something new every time you watch :-)
