Markers on the timeline

Is it possible in Vegas 5d to lock the markers to the point on the timeline so the don't have to be repositioned every time something is inserted. I'm doing an 800 slide project and I am using the markers to mark title insert points. When I insert a background the timeline get bumped forward but the markers stay where they were and I have to go through and move all of them to the correct place again.

Change the ripple edit mode. You'll find an icon on the toolbar for ripple edit (unless you removed it by re-configuring your toolbar). Click on the down arrow on the button and select the second or third of the three modes. Your markers will now move, along with the video and audio on your timelines.
