Markers placed in trimmer not saving on specific formats

Version : Vegas Pro 22.0 (Build 239)

Issue : Certain file formats refuse to retain markers placed inside trimmer.

Tried solution : I have the "Automatically save trimmer markers and regions with media file" option enabled.

Hello. While placing markers using the trimmer, I've noticed that certain file formats fail to save the marker. Specifically, AVC video files seem to not be able to save any markers placed inside the trimmer. Here are some images:

Image 1. Marker placed inside a MPEG Audio (.mp3) file

Image 2. Marker placed inside an AVC Video (.mp4) file. Notice that the "Save Markers/Regions" button is greyed out.

Image 3. Marker placed inside a ProRes (.mov) file

Image 4. After closing Vegas Pro and reloading the project. Notice that the AVC video file has failed to retain its marker

As you can see, while all other formats have saved their markers, the AVC video has failed to save the marker placed inside the trimmer. Moreover the "Save Markers/Regions" button seems to be greyed out.

My workflow relies on a huge number of AVC (.mp4) video files and I am not able to easily convert them. Is there any way for this function to work for this video format?

I use Vegas Beat Detection a lot on my music clips. I would love to have those saved to the clips. And since I've never worked with ProRes files, I've never had markers saved, so that was the way the software works.

I personally would love for all the markers to be saved when the project is saved.

I'm glad that I am not the only one having this issue, but that begs the question of if this is working as intended or not. Are we supposed to remember all the markers before closing the project? When especially Vegas beat detection has been a big part of the marketing for VP22?
