Markers-Regions in non-SONY apps

Good day to all.

In Vegas, when I save Markers/Regions via the Trimmer I can bring those clips into other SONY apps like Sound Forge and see the Markers/Regions. Are these Markers/Regions recognized in other non-SONY apps like Edius, Premiere, AfterEffects, etc.? If not, is there a work flow around this--e.g. exporting out a .txt file of Marker/Region info and importing that info into Edius, Premiere, AfterEffects, etc.?

Otherwise, when writing an AVI Vegas uses the RIFF LABEL (LABL) in-band metadata method to tell the itself or the application downstream where the markers are.

MPG files can also have markers embedded, not sure of the technique or how apps other than DVDArchitect can make use of them or whether there presence can cause incompatibilities.

NewTek's VT suite (VT-Edit, the NLE portion) also writes media markers out using the LABL method when using their frame-server. Works a treat when loading into DVDArchitect.

NewTek's SpeedEDIT takes the approach of writing a specific file type that DVDLab can read. It is a pity there isn't an agreed way of conveying this data. Perhaps OMF and MXF has some standards based mechanism.....?
