Design Engineers have always wondered why marketing people always seem to make the most money, yet know the least about the products being developed. Well engineers have finally worked out the equations to explain this phenomena.
Equation 1: (P)ower =(W)ork/(T)ime
We have learned over time that the next equation is also true.
Equation 2: (K)nowledge=(P)ower
Our bosses on a daily basis have always told us that Time equals Money, to give us the next equation.
Equation 3: (T)ime= $
substitute Knowledge for Power into Equation 1 we get =>
K= W/T
substitute Money into the above equation for Time =>
K=W/$
Rework the above equation and solve for $ =>
$= W/K
Therefore if we take the LIMIT as KNOWLEDGE goes to Zero we find
Money goes to infinity.
and that is the technical explanation of why marketing people make more money than engineers.
