Marking a clip on the timeline

I would like to mark a clip on the timeline, not mark the timeline. Is there a way to do this?

Mark .. as in "used" as in graphically? . . Hold on! What are you trying to achieve?

To place markers within the media, open it in the Trimmer, create your marker and click the Save Markers/Regions button. When placed on the timeline, the markers will show on the event if you have View> Event Media Markers on.

Yep, I knew that I could open the trimmer and mark 'em there, but I want to place marks (as you can in the trimmer) on an object but do it on the timeline.

What I have is a project that I marked on the timeline, now I want to take the object to another file but do not want to have to mark the good stuff again, guess I should render?
