Are you SURE you want this? You ONLY want to see the background - and not the subject? . .interesting ..

You can do it using the cookie cutter efx, Color Gradient in Media Generator (applying an alpha mask effect to the track) or using the bezier mask of the pan crop. Or you can create a mask in a graphics app and use it as a mask, or you could use a black and white video track used as a mask (again with the alpha mask applied) or you could create text around the edges and use it as a mask or...

You can adjust each of these methods for however you want the "background" to show through by the order of the clips/stills and/or inverting the mask settings.

I would start with the Mask function in Pan/Crop. This will allow you to create a Bezier mask around your subject and then decide if you want to keep or cutout the subject (i.e., invert the mask).
