Recently I saw a thread about basically doing a green screen keying without actual green screen. I believe it was via luma differences. The example was the American Idol birthday video clip that worked out pretty well.

I believe someone else said they considered writing a tutorial.

Does anyone have the basic steps that one could follow for now?

I believe I am going to really need this masking methodology soon.

I was going to try and put all the threads together and determine the methodology, but have not yet had time.

Does anyone have this information in perhaps (easy –to-follow) bullet statement format that could be posted now?
