I'm pressed for time so I don't have time to read the whole chapter on masks. Is there a simple way to create an event mask that will give me the footage in 16:9 ratio from a 4:3 footage/photo? I know I can select widescreen from the drop down menu, but as soon as I scale back it goes back to 4:3. Then I could set it to widescreen and do the movement with track motion, but in that case I lose alpha feather if I do a blur cross effect, plus I want to do a feather on certain events when I reduce their size.

Playing with the anchor creation and path tools is a pain in the ass, it's not intuitive and very frustrating. Can someone show me the light?
