Massive delay and loading with Sony Vegas 15 Pro

Greetings!

I'm having an issue in general with the program itself as this has happen actually with previous versions but at the time and for years I have been ignoring it until now. Whenever I open Vegas (Usually it is a project I'm working on.) I get massively long loading and delay to where sometimes I have to wait minutes before the project loads. Some projects aren't even big while some have been. I've tried to lower the preview to but that doesn't cause the problem. Here are 2 things I do when working on a project when I get the issue.

1) Importing files: I normally don't import large quantities of files at once but I do notice if I import a lot at once there is massive delay. The files are MP3s that aren't even 1MB and they're in the low KBs.

2) When I switch from the Vegas App to another App like Photoshop/Net browser, or even if I try to play the timeline to view something: Sometimes I have to switch to Photoshop or a net browser when I'm doing something with Vegas. However when I go back to Vegas, I get the loading circle and it takes forever to load or something before I can do anything in Vegas again. If I click too much it sometimes crashes Vegas so often times and to prevent redoing editing, I save each time I do something in the project. This also happens when I play the videos in the time line. Sometimes the preview freezes while the timeline is still going then it skips and I have to backtrack to the parts missed and replay the clip again just to view what Vegas skips. Also at times I also get long and massive delay and loading and I have to wait for the spinning wheel to go away before it'll play the clips.

To add on, this has happened on small and big projects. The smallest project I only imported 3 small videos for editing and the spinning wheel lasts too long if it is loading up everything. This has made projects annoying and frustrating now to work on. Below is my Laptop's Spec.

Have been experiencing similar behaviour while switching between programs.

It fixed it for me to go into preferences and deselect the option "close media while program is not in focus"... or something similar. I am not in front of my computer to verify how it is exactly.

Sorry for the long reply. Been away for a bit. Thank you so much! That fixed the problem and now editing is less hassle.

@Sairen you do have a fast PC - but the delay in re-opening media after Vegas has not been the active application might come from having the media files on the HDD. I had the same issue - but as I needed to let Vegas close the media while working on them in another program - I bought a fast 512 GB SSD dedicated for working media and mounted it on a SATA 600 input. Since then the Vegas re-opening delay is not noticeable any more.
