match media settings

If I have rendered a media file in MPEG-2 and AC-3 at 7,5 MBps for a DVD in Vegas Movie Studio then I shouldn't have render once more in DVDA, right? But in DVDA the dialog box says: "recompression required" and I have to manually adjust the MBps value to 7,5. Isn't there a way to make DVDA use the rendered media files as they are without changing any settings and without rendering once more?

I am using the default Mainconcept MPEG render template without changing anything in Vegas Movie Stúdio which is supposed to make re-rendering unnecessary but DVDA still want to recompress. What am I doing wrong?

I managed to make DVDA accept the rendered files from Vegas, but only by choosing the "single movie" template in DVDA that lacks a menu. Is it not possible to make DVDA accept the rendered files without re-rendering if I use the menu-based DVD template?

DVDA will always render the menu itself but shouldn't need to render the source video and sound, so long as it's compatible and not too large.

Thanks, but can I see somewhere that DVDA is only rendering the menu and not the source video and sound?

When you've created the menu go to File>Optimise disc. This will show what needs to be rendered.

OK thank you.
