1. Are the FX enabled?
2. Have you changed any settings in the FX on the audio track? If not, the FX default to doing nothing.
3. If you are trying to match a process from track one to track two, you'll need to save the FX from track one, and then recall that preset in track two.

Think source audio was just way too thin to ever match with stuff already laid down. Re-recorded those segments so source was closer to the ear. Little tweeking and I think we're there.
Weird thing though,---tried to match up audio by putting new clips on separate track and applying same FX as main narration track. Could barely get a level on new track. Inserted another,---same thing. Real low. May have had something to do with "automation settings". Bit puzzled by those. On narration track that button is green,---on nat sound looks like kind of a red centred star,---BG music is that same star. What is default and how can it be reset?
