matching elementary streams not being picked up in DVDA - Blu-ray

Hi all.. something weird, perhaps it's my finger trouble, and not a biggie, I know the manual route.. BUT

I read and have seen that exporting the elementary streams for creating a disc in DVDA 7 from Vegas 'Pro' 18, if the filenames match when importing the .m2v it will automatically pick up the .w64 (5.1)... but my setup doesn't do that... It does if the audio is ac3 but that is another step, (ffmpg) that shouldn't be necessary...

AND since Sound Forge 'Pro' 14 that is bundle with Vegas Pro 18, CAN'T export to ac3, it brings in to view why bundle SF with VP ?

cheers doobre

.w64 files are not part of the DVD standard. If you save them as standard .wav files, it will link them correctly. ..w64 files are a Sony Proprietary file.

Yep, i am aware of that.. but i am talking about blu-ray.. i have read reviews and seen YT videos that show the linking between .m2v.and w64, when creating 5,1 blu-rays..

The videos show DVDA linkng them? As you noted, the best way is to do it manually if it doesn't do it automatically. .w64 are not part of the bluray standard either. It just gets converted to a standard LPCM.

@9.30-ish...

He does not say or show the .w64 file being imported. I would bet had he shown it, it would have been the AC3 file.

In terms of audio quality, Wave 64 files are identical to standard Wave files, but in the file headers Wave 64 files use 64-bit values for addressing where Wave files use 32-bit values. The consequence of this is that Wave 64 files can be considerably larger than standard Wave files. Wave 64 is therefore a good file format choice for long recordings, for example, if the file sizes exceeds 2 GB.
