Matching up the markers to Chapter points

Using DVDA 3.0, Vegas 6.0...

I created the look of my dvd menu, complete with chapter buttons. Then I rendered my project in Vegas with markers that correspond to the chapter start points. Now I need to get the chapter points (markers) to match the appropriate buttons that I already created.
Is there a link or tutorial on the Web you could point me to?

In DVDA, I clicked my project file and selected "Insert Scene Selection Menu" but am not sure how to put in the chapters now or if I even needed to do that. I thought the chapter points would automatically be there; I must have done something out of proper sequence.

Thanks-
Dale

If you created those buttons using Insert Scene Selection Menu, and there are the same number of buttons as you have chapters, then you don't have to do anything further; DVDA read your markers just fine.

If you had to create the buttons manually, something went wrong. When you rendered the MPEG2 file in Vegas, did you check the box labeled "Save project markers in media file"? You have to do that in order for DVDA to be able to read your markers. If you did do that, go to the media's timeline in DVDA and hit the Load Markers button (folder with two brown markers over it).

If none of this works, or if you rendered the MPEG2 without saving markers, just add your markers to the DVDA timeline by hand, delete your old Scene Selection Menu, and insert a new one. You don't have to "do" anything to make the buttons match your markers -- that's what the Insert Scene Selection Menu option is for.

Actually, if you forgot to render with the check box enabled, you can use this handy script to export the markers from Vegas. Then, in DVDA, simply go to the timeline for the MPEG-2 file, and click on the icon above the timeline that says "Load Markers." That's all there is to it.

Here's the link to the script:

No, I created those buttons manually by using one of the button templates. I did check the box "save project markers in media file" when I rendered in Vegas.

I created the dvd menus--as the home user will see them--beforehand, then went to Vegas, rendered the project, and now need to link the chapters (markers) with the chapter buttons.
