Matching video formats in multicam edit

Hello,

I have video footage that was shot in SD mode and another shot in SD widescreen. I'm doing a multiple cam edit in vegas 8 pro and would like the SD widescreen to match the size of the SD footage. So far I have changed the project settings to match the SD video, ut the problem I'm having is cropping the SD widescreen video so that the black bars are not above and below. By the way I'm using VASST quad cam plugin. Please help.

I have used the pan/crop tool (in a separate project file) to change the aspect ratio of the footage. Then I saved it as an AVI and brought it back into the quadcam project by replacing the original material with the cropped file.

I did it to make standard SD look letterboxed to match another camera but it should work the same for you.

ok. So I guess I open that footage in Vegas alone or move to a separate event track and use the pan/crop tool? My question is whether or not I have to change the project size to 4:3 or leave it at the size of the SD widescreen footage? Or can you tell me what steps you would use to do what I need to do?

Thanks Much!

got it figured out. Set pan/crop to 4:3 and rendered to avi.
