I downloaded the free Matrox DV codec to get the video from my digital still camera (canon A70) to show up in vegas. Problem is, now all my .avis are being turned out with same Matrox DV/DVCAM codec rather than Sony codec-- and boy do stills montages rendered out from Canopus's Imaginate and ported into Vegas look broken interlace lousy when they're edited further, then rendered out with the Matrox rather than Sony codec.
So I think I can check IGNORE 3rd Party DV Codecs in Prefs to override the Matrox codec, but how does Vegas pick a codec if you leave that box unchecked and say have a handful of 3rd party codecs loaded? Alphabetical order? And wouldn't it be nifty to be able to designate which codec you exactly wanted to render with? Would this be a useful feature addition for Vegas 6?
