Matrox RT2500 ......HELP!!

Vegas does not seem to recognise my matrox rt2500 as a capture device. So I'm having to use Premiere to capture and output. Which is a pain because it crashes my system all the time. Is it compatible with vegas 3.0?? And if so, why is it convinced that I don't have a capture device?

VV3 is used with a firewire card.

It would be really nice if VV3 supported a 3rd party hardware rendering solution, much like Final Cut and Premiere.
