but I'll ask here 1st anyways.I know there is alot of different forum users with different back grounds,so I fell like someone will be able to help me or steer me to the right place t ask.

I am considering purchasing a pair of Sony HDR-HC9s to go into underwater housings to film in offshore bluewater for HD and SD broadcast.

Iam curious if anyone has worked with these and know how they might do for this use??

any help would be appreciated..Thank you

I have worked with HC7's in a Light & Motion Bluefin housing - nice setup. A shooter I have corresponded with recommended them for underwater content for broadcast - he said in the right conditions, the camera was every bit as good as the Z1U in an housing. And he's done work for OUtdoor Life channel, Discovery, etc.

Yeh...I am thinking of putting an HC 9 in a Light and Motion "Amphibico" housing for HD broadcast.I have world renowned offshore bluewater conditions where i live that generally yeilds anywhere from 50-150ft of viz.

Been filming with a VX 2000 in a bluefin and have gotten ridiculous footage offshore, while freediving.

I hope this doesn't go against any forum rules or anything like that, but check out this 10 min clip of us Marlin fishing.I filmed the Marlin with the vx and bluefin on a pole and then jumped over in 7000ft of water 64 miles off the beach for the footage of the Mahi
