I'm a professional editor and I've been using Vegas for many years for multimedia based projects. Thus far it has been an outstanding piece of software, but someone at Sony needs to get their act together with this latest release.

There is a serious problem with 'mcmpgvdec.dll' that causes version 8.0b to crash while previewing files. I'm using Windows XP on a dual core 3.6 machine and 4GB of RAM. Many people have been having this problem. Just search Google.

Short of re-formating the hard drive, I have tried everything. It's definetely this latest release of Vegas that has a problem.

If anyone out there has a solution, I'm all ears...
