measuring time & grabbing frames

Here's 2 easy questions for the more experienced in Vegas:

1. What is the quick and easy way to measure a clip? Like if I want to see how long just part of a clip (event) is, how do I see how long it is? Like in Avid you would just put an in and out point where you'd want to measure the time, and select i/o

2. Is it possible to export just a frame of video from the timeline as a still image, like a jpeg?

Thanks to all for your responses here! You all have helped me much, and I really appreciate it!

1. Drag the cursor from one part of the timeline to another in the empty space above the time ruler. This will highlight a section in blue with yellow triangles at the in and out points. Tweak the triangles left or right with the mouse as necessary. Under the lower right corner of the timeline you'll see three counters: in, out, duration between in & out. if you double-click on a clip the entire clip will be selected and you'll see the duration of the clip.

2. Position the cursor to show the frame you want to export. Set the preview mode to Best/Full. Click the little floppy disk icon above the right corner of the preview window to save the frame as .jpg or .png.
