Media Converter, Trouble converting analog to digital

I am attempting to convert my VHS tapes to Digital format so that I can edit them on Video Factory. I am
using a Soney DVMC-DA2 Media converter. I'm having problems. I hear audio but not video. Is there a way
to "tweak" the program??
If not has anyone had luck with a converter with this or any editing software??

It's been working flawlessly for me.

Have you had another capture device in your computer? If so, you might
still be selecting that device in VideoCapture instead of selecting the
Sony converter. It will show up in the list of video devices as "Microsoft
DV Camera" or something similar. The only connection you will make
between the converter and the computer is a firewire cable.

If you don't have the converter controlling your VCR through a LANc
connection, then you'll also have to tell Video Capture to NOT control
the device. Under Options, Preferences, General, remove the checkmark
from "Enable Device DV Control". With that checked, Video Capture
can't properly control the analog VCR and therefore doesn't even try
to capture the video. Of course, you'll want to re-check this if you capture
from your DV camera.

Hope this gets you started!

You saved me money and headaches. Technical support
was not any help. Consider yourself an expert!

I changed "Enable Device DV Control" off

Thanks very much Notam@Bellsouth.net

Isn't that info in the Video Capture online help file?
