Media files

I don't understand why this happened the way it did. I'm editing an HDV project but I needed more media space in my external hardrive so I deleted the media that I was not using. Right after that the project that I was editing has some spots where it says offline media but I did not delete that media. I deleted a totally different folder in that same external drive. I searched for the missing media but it's gone so HOW DO I GET IT BACK?.

Thanks for your support.

If you brought it into your project and didn't use it, your project still thinks it should be there.
If you have all necessary media on the timelime, click the lightning bolt in the top left of the media pool.
This removes any unsed media from the pool.
Save this (preferably under a new name, just in case) and reopen it.
Everything should know be OK.

Hey rs170a. I tried it but still no media so I'm going to have to re-capture again. Is there another way to just capture that specific part so I don't have to capture all 10 hours, ten mini-dv tapes again?.

Thanks.

I personally haven't had to try this but, if you right-click a missing clip in the media pool, you have two options - "Recapture" and "Recapture All Offline Media".
Try the "Recapture" option first.
