LyricsGirl wrote on 8/16/2009, 8:02 AM
Hi
I have Vegas 7 and am attemting to place a large amoubnt of text onto the credit roll media generator.
The text is a poem which I want to use as the ope ning section of a wedding video.the intention is to scroll the poem whilst also running a PIP to the right of the screen.
however credit roll only seems to allow one line of text at a time.
Is ther e awork around to this please?
Many thanks

Angela - Some of these apply to Vegas 7. Lots of good ideas here:

I tested using static text media generater, but the results after tweaking were not the desired outcome. I returned to using the credit roll, entered 64 lines of text, but vegas 7 failed to adjust the text in font, font size, colors. I re tweaked but still no changes made. I then saved, closed, rebooted to no avail.
Now I have deleted the credit roll track and will retry. Else I may have to use an alternate editing program and import resulting AVI file into the Vegas timeline.

Any suggestions?????

Thank You.....

What did you not like?
I much prefer this to the credit roll as I find I have a LOT more control.

Hi Mike,

Umm. You are right! I am now working on the static text. To get the appearance of the timed credit roll, I am placing one verse from the poem i am placing into the video as an opening title,
one verse at a time set to 10 secs length with fades each end. each verse will have its own seperate text box, with a 10 second gap between each text.

I think maybe I did not tweak enough the first time around!

Many Thanks to both of you guys in replying some alternate methods, and also for the speed inwhich you did reply.

Angela, keep playing with the static text option.
As I said, I find that it gives me a lot more options than the credit roll.
By stretching it out, I can make the roll go as fast or as slow as I want/need it to.
Please let us know if there's something special you're trying to do and can't figure out.
Good luck with it and keep having fun.

==================
Actually it applies to all versions of Vegas through Vegas 9. The amateurish credit roll generator has never changed and apparently never will. I stopped complaining about it a few years ago because it became really apparent that the original credit roll generator was "good enough" as far as SF/Sony was concerned.

Hi John

THANK YOU too!

Yes I did revert to the static text and entered one stanza at a time and it works perfectly!!!!!
